Rambo III Released On: Master System Year Released: 1988 The Rambo Scoop: Rambo III on the SEGA Master System ditched the Commando-style formula of its predecessor and used the light gun to recreate an Operation Wolf-esque shooter. Peek at our gallery of Rambo shots for the SMS. But since the SMS version of Rambo is actually a re-skinning of an earlier Master System game called Secret Commando (which was a total rip-off of Rambo anyway), SEGA left the co-op stuff in there, making it a good early multiplayer game for SMS owners. Using explosive arrows, Rambo blows open huts and other structures to free lost POWs and earn extra arrows and lives. The game plays not entirely unlike Commando or Ikari Warriors. Rambo: First Blood Part II Released On: Master System, C64, Spectrum Year Released: 1986 The Rambo Scoop: This edition of Rambo (the above screen comes from the Master System edition of the game) roughly follows the plot of the second film, with John Rambo headed back into Vietnam. Although you begin the game with only a knife, you soon complete Rambo's arsenal of weapons, such as his trademark bow-and-arrow, as well as pistols, grenades, and bazookas. Rambo returns to Vietnam in screen after screen of mayhem. Super Rambo Special Released On: MSX Year Released: 1985 The Rambo Scoop: Rambo on the MSX, a home computer system that never took off in America but certainly elsewhere around the planet, follows the hero's exploits from the second film.
